The new age lifestyle leaves less time for youngsters to help
and support elders. As in Western countries, state supported
social systems for elders are very much inadequate. Traditionally,
elders in India, do not want to be separated from their families.
They prefer family based services and facilities to institutional
care . This is where Nightingales has stepped in with its
well-formulated, need based and innovative eldercare projects
and programmes and is making a societal impact.
