Nightingales Elders Enrichment Centre (NEEC) was established
in 1999 as the first project of NMT. It is a unique day care
facility for senior citizens. Here elders gather and spend their
day time engaged in a wide range of meaningful activities and
programs. It is an ideal avenue of freedom from isolation and
depression.
Apart from basic
short stay and respite care facilities, NEEC offers a library
equipped with newspapers, magazines and a computer. Various
cultural programs, yoga sessions, religious discourses and
talks are also held regularly. The Centre is also equipped
with a medical facility with bedside assistance, counseling
sessions and physiotherapy. Transport facilities are also
provided.
TEnthusiastic elders, who like to be productive
and contribute to society are encouraged to get involved in
various community welfare programs. Members are actively involved
with the Helpline facility and other welfare schemes run by
the Trust.
So far more than 400 members have been registered at the Centre and on
an average about 40 elders visit the Centre every day. 7 elders
avail Respite Care facilities.
