Nightingales Medical Trust
(NMT) is a Non Government Organization (NGO) dedicated to eldercare.
We firmly believe that elders should remain an integral part
of their family. We work towards bringing joy, dignity, hope
and health to their lives. We sensitize the community and the
government to the problems that elders face and encourage public
participation in our efforts to create various family based
support systems for elders of different socio economic groups.
It began with Dr. Radha S. Murthy and Mr.
S. Premkumar Raja teaming up to start the NIGHTINGALES HOME
HEALTH SERVICES in January 1996. This innovative service was
designed to make the lives of senior citizens easier by providing
all possible medical care at their doorstep.
This experience with senior citizens
convinced them that medical help alone could not resolve the
problems of elders, who also needed emotional and social support.
To meet this need for a comprehensive eldercare the NIGHTINGALES
MEDICAL TRUST was formed in 1998.
